White Scratch Recipe ?-Light And Tender

I need help finding a white cake recipe from scratch that is light and tender...texture of a box mix....is that possible ?
I've tried :Billy's...too eggy tasting and dense
Mermaid
another from Martha's site

has anyone tried Magnolia's?
Thanks for any help....especially reviews

This is my "go to" when in need of a simple scratch white. Cream the heck out of that butter and sugar though, and make sure you fold in the egg whites carefully so you don't smoosh down the batter.

Thanks so much ! I think that is exactly what I was looking for...(I use buttermilk in my fav chocolate cake too).
