I had the priveledge (sp?) of taking a cake deco class at Confetti Cakes with Elisa Strauss this weekend. All I can say is she is amazing! Well I knew that part already but to see her cakes in person 
WOW. We had a chance to make a mini monster head like the one on the cover of her book. She was so sweet and let you ask questions the whole time. While we were there we saw a huge cake going out to "a celebrity" and I just saw the cake this morning on the US Magazine website 
What a hoot, she wouldn't say who it was for and rightfully so but to see it in person then in a magazine the next day, I am flying high

I'm taking a 2-day class with her on May 5/6 next month at Flour Confections in Pickering, Ontario and we're making this cake from the book. Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait!!
Wow Antonia that should be great. I saw her do a demo of that cake last month at ICE and it was amazing. She is so sweet! Post pictures when you are done, I am sure it will be beautiful!!!

To attach pic:
When you post your reply there is an option to add an attachment (you'll see a tab that say "add an attachment under where you type your reply to the post). then you have can click on the browse button and select the pic that you have loaded onto your computer (wherever you have saved it to). Then click on add attachment and submit your post as usual.
You'll also want to make sure the pic you post is has a .jpg extension. Sometimes there are issues with size so if it tells you it's to big you will need to reduce the size of the pic.

She is a sweetheart! I actually emailed her to ask a question and actually got a response!! I was impressed with that, even though, I am sure it was her assistant, they at least took the time to respond. Tried that with Colette Peters and didn't get any response or acknowlegement of email..
I love her books - I have both of them. My son is wanting the monster on the cover for his Pre School moving up to Kindergarten Party. I've just started baking, so I'll be sure to ask LOTS of questions!

Try this Sunshyne_gal I hope it works. If not got to usmagazine.com and view the " hot pictures" it is picture # 27 you can't see the whole cake but you can get the idea
