I'm new to baking cakes. I have seen WASC several times. What does this stand for?

It stands for White Almond Sour Cream cake....yummy!

I never use almond though. You can use vanilla. There are many, many adaptations of this cake to make many flavors.

I'll try to dig that up for you.
