Has anyone had trouble with MMF colored with Americolor and fading? I've never had this problem before and tried Mom's Butter flavored MMF recipe and the color won't stay...it fades after about a day. Anyone else have this problem? icon_cry.gif

What color is it? Chances are it's the color and not the MMF. Anything with red (red, pink, purple, fuchsia, etc) will fade out from light.

It is a hot pink. I've used this before though and never had a problem. In fact, I mixed it with Satin Ice to make it firm up and so far mixed with Satin Ice, it is holding it's color. Wierd!

I am very new to cake decorating and had the same problem on my first fondant cake (the pink present in my pics).

I didn't realize that the color would fade if I left it out exposed to florescent lights. When I got up in the morning the side exposed to the light had totally faded.

Now that I know what caused it I haven't had the problem again.
