Do Gloves Need To Be Food Safe To Use In The Kitchen?

Kneading food color into mmf can get quite messy so I was thinking of using gloves for this. Can I use any latex or vinyl gloves found in drug stores or are there "food safe" gloves out there to use? I'm a little hesitant to use latex on something that will be eaten. I used to work in a hospital laboratory and wore latex gloves every day. While I did not develop a latex allergy, some people did as a result of frequent exposure. Does anyone know if regular gloves are safe to use in the kitchen? Thanks

Sharon aka sugarshack uses some neat gloves in her dvds. I wish I knew where she gets those. Maybe she will see this. I would love to keep buttercream and food coloring off my hands.
