I made some the other day and it tasted really good but then I noticed a little bitter aftertaste. I by mistake added 3 tsp of vanilla instead of 2tsp. but I used real vanilla. I wasn't sure if the recipe called for cream but in the ingredients it said cream but the directions said milk so I used whipping cream. Would that make it bitter? Anyone's imput would help. TIA

I'm not sure, because the other recipe posted for her fondant says sometimes she uses more vanilla. Smell the vanilla by itself, maybe something is amiss with it. The cream shouldn't unless it was sour?? I don't know, just throwing out some ideas. I can't say that I've ever gotten a bitter taste with this fondant. Hopefully someone will come and post something for you.
