I got asked to do a cake for a party that has a black and pink theme. My friend wants chocolate frosting with hot pink accents. The theme is black and pink! I dont want to make the cake brown and pink. Would a black cake with hot pink fondant accents look okay? Typically the cake you would see is hot pink and the accents are black. I guess in the end it would be better to make the cake brown and pink, if a black cake with pink accents wont look right. Any suggestions? Thoughts?

I think black cake with pink accents would look pretty cool!

Ice the cake with chocolate buttercream (or whatever chocolate icing you like), cover with black fondant and use pink fondant for accents. I think it would look good...although I'm not sure if the teeth of the guests would look great, though! lol

Black and pink is a very popular color combination for almost everything right now! I always buy ready made black fondant to get the color and texture needed that's hard to get homemade. I have used dark chocolate fondant and added black color- it tends to get to soft.
