Hey guys (gals),

Ok I have been making MMF for a few years now. I am considering buying some Satin Ice or similar. I have a couple questions.

As far as elasticity, taste, durability, which brand do you like best and why?

How much do you buy at a time? I know it lasts a long time but I haven't actually seen the different containers and wonder how much it takes to do a cake. For example I may do a 3 tier soon and would 5 lbs be enough? Should I get the 20 lb? How far does it go? I know it depends on what all you are doing with it but lets just figure I am only going to cover cakes with it.

TIA

The only purchased fondant I've only tried is Satin Ice, and I LOVE it compared to MMF. Earlene Moore has a chart here to estimate how much you need:
