Before I make a bunch of phone calls, does anyone know if Walmart, Costco, or Sam's Club roses are pesticide free / safe to use on cakes?

Thanks!!!

Let me save you a couple of phone calls. I had a wedding cake last week that needed some flowers for the topper. I called Central Market
(like Whole Foods). I was told by the florists that all flowers are treated with pesticide but it is much like what they use on our fruits and vegetables. She suggested that I just wipe the flowers clean with a damp cloth and not put them on the cake (if I was really worried) until the last minute. I cut a small round of parchment and laid this on top of the cake and then laid the small bouquest of flowers on top of the cake. It worked out just fine. I wipe the flowers down with a damp cloth.
Hope this helps. Good luck icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif
