I'm wondering if anyone has a recipe for this frosting. My local bakery sells what they call "buttercream" frosting, however it is not super sweet like most BC and it has the taste and texture of very thick Cool Whip. I asked if it needs to be refridgerated after put on a cake, and they said no. From looking at their cakes , it pipes quite well, roses too. Has a firm texture. I have search this site for a possible recipe and have not come up with anything. Any ideas what this could be?? They are not offering the recipe, go figure. icon_lol.gif

I'm guessing they buy it in... but meringue based buttercream also meets that description.

Sounds like Rich's Bettercreme/Frostin Pride/one of those types of icings to me. Maybe doctored up to be firmer -see this thread for more info icon_smile.gif http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-decorating-ftopict-601193.html (the only thing I am not sure about is the piping roses part though...are you sure they use the same recipe for roses?) Just my 2c!
