I recently got my hands on some Hershey's Special Dark cocoa powder in a sale at my grocery store. My goodness, is that stuff dark. Thankfully, it tastes really good- not bitter at all, but a lovely dark chocolate flavor. I made the "Perfectly Chocolate" cake and frosting from the back of the container, as I've done many times with regular Hershey's cocoa.

That frosting came out nearly black! All I had to do was add a tiny bit of gel paste to get the full Monty.

If you can't find the Hershey's Special Dark, there are other companies online that sell so-called "black cocoa."
