Need Help With Football Pan....cake Due Today.....

I have a Lombardi trophy cake due today and the cake(s)I made with the football pan(so far 4) is coming out hard on the sides and botttom , but if I want the center done I have to leave it in the oven until it is done. I did put a metal flower peg in the center. Please please can anyone help me? I dont want to give them an uneatable cake!!!!!!

What temp are you baking at?

350 till center was done

You should bake at 325. It takes a bit longer, but it will bake even. Or, if you lower the temp to 325 halfway through baking, so the edges won't burn and it will not leave the edges hard.
