I tried to use a chocolate mold to make a gumpaste baseball. The mold that I used is two half balls. I planned on putting them together with royal icing and sandpapering it smooth. I think that this is stupid at this point 'cause I can't even get them off of the mold. Well my problem is I put the gumpaste on the outside to get the correct curvature and so that it would be hollow, now I can't get them off. I generously dusted it with cornstarch and broke one. so I did it again this time with shortening. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do? Thanks in advance.

Hi, try covering the mold with saran wrap. since you have put lot of shortening on it, saran wrap will stick to it. Then dust the saran wrap with cornstarch.

Maybe a little spray grease (Pam)?
