I need some suggestions for a cake. My son just got engaged and I would like to make an engagement party for 12-15 guests. Now not too time consuming or complicated! I have worked with fondant and RI so I do have some self-taught experience. I would like to stick to the theme of an engagement. Any ideas would be appricated

I like the cake that is in the bottom left-hand corner of this page at Pink Cake Box.com She makes beautiful cakes! It's the one with champagne glasses with the couple's names on it. I love the champagne bubbles. I saved it to make for my daughter's engagement cake, although I'd do it in other colors.

start with any size round.
cut (grays areas are scrap and also supply the pieces for the little prongs)
stack
carve a bit (if you wish)
add lines to give the diamond its angles.

and the scraps can be cake balls (or miniature ball and chains????)
