I started making fondant figures about a month ago and decided I wanted to make a Christmas cake for my family. I was so nervous about how it was going to turn out (but knew my family would be forgiving). Here's the result. I know I still have lots of work to do to make my figures look any close to the beautiful figures I see on CC. I would love any comments or tips you have for me.
The cake was chocolate and filled with peppermint buttercream and crushed candy canes. The outside fondant was covered in silver sanding sugar and royal icing snowflakes.
You did a great job. I tried to make figures once and they sucked, haven't really tried sinse then.

SO ADORABLE!! I love your figurines, you did a very good job. my only suggestion is to makes santa's eyes with white eyes and a black iris. but other than that, FANTASTIC. i would also like to start trying to make figurines. GREAT JOB!
Great job....it's hard to believe that this was you're first attempt.....I bet your family was really impressed.
thats lovely!! so much work went into it, i can tell!! your figures are lovely, i would just make the eyes smaller next time, i always think small ones are more forgiving and look more alert but you did a lovely job, and it sounded yummy!
Thanks to everyone for your compliments and comments. Cathy and Mandi, I will definitely take your suggestions on the eyes next time I make figures!
