Mmf First Attempt Help!

I tried doing the mmf but it keeps crumbling. I don't know why? Did i added to much shortening or powder sugar? I ran out of powder sugar already help!

I've only made the stuff once, but it sounds like you used too much PS. At first it should start out really soupy and sticky. Then you slowly your PS a cup at a time. Soon, you should be able to touch it with your hands w/o it sticking. At the point that it starts getting harder to work in the PS, and it starts to feel like regular fondant...you stop.

If you kept adding the PS, or didn't work it all in before adding more you may be SOL. I had the same thing happen to me my first time I made white choco fondant...and it was crumbling and turned into a rocky hard brick. icon_sad.gif

I think you add to much sugar. icon_smile.gif That happen to me when I start using my MMF, What I do now I weight the sugar so I do not add to much and add it one cup at a time.
