It's disturbing to think about those things... but it is good to be aware... I got this mail a few weeks ago and when reading it I realised that I do tend to sit in the car for a few minutes here or there... to collect thoughts, figure out where I'm going next.. or when I get home just to breathe- I never would have thought of that as an opportunity for something to happen.

I'm not a paranoid person by any means - probably too lax about many things, actually - but I do try to remember to lock my car doors when I go through the drive-thru ATM now.

In the summer a guy jumped into a woman's car at my local bank and at knife-point forced her to withdraw a large sum of money. I know this is true because I was there half an hour after it happened and there were police cars everywhere and a TV reporter tried to interview me about it!
