I was wondering if anyone makes cupcakes without using baking cups. I was thinking about doing this for a my baby shower but would love some advice from anyone who has some to share!

Thanks so much.

You could do this....rub the inside of your cupcake pan with pan grease and they should pop right out.

If you aren't baking, decorating, and serving right away, though, it might be advantageous to dip the exposed bottoms of the cupcakes in candy melts or chocolate, to seal the moisture in.

Although it is possible to bake with cups I dont' know why you'd want to. The cupcakes will dry out faster with papers, not to mention that different people could literally be handling them with bare hands. Not sanitary.

We are havinga a High Tea for my shower and don't need a huge cake. I found Laser Cut Muffin Cups to set them in after they bake. I really don't want the look of a muffin cup. Plus its family and only my sister or myself will be touching them.

karateka~is there a specific pan grease you use for this?

thanks for all the help.

I use this recipe for pan grease:

1 cup flour
1 cup shortening
1/2 cup vegetable oil

mix thoroughly
