I am making a cake for my Mother and am planning to make a gold necklace with a heart that says Mother on it. I plan to make the heart and the word Mother out of royal. To make a delicate-ish looking chain I am trying to decide on what medium to use. If I use gumpaste I can make it, it will just be pretty tedious. If I use royal I would have to pipe it directly on the cake and then try to carefully paint it gold. Any good ideas out there....has anyone ever made a delicate-ish looking chain? I really need some advice on this one. Thanks.

Joanne, you could use RI off the cake, and then transfer it VERY GENTLY, but before you transfer it, paint it with silver dust. I did this for a wedding cake with the celtic knot on it, painted it with gold and bronze dust. Came out nicely.
