hi everyone icon_smile.gif

i'm going to make a 3 tier 7th birthday cake 6" 8" 10" all covered in MMF. my concern is, do i need to use dowel if the 6 & 8' are dummy cakes? it will have simple decors and will have RKT topper. btw, it will be picked up then traveled to the party venue about 45 min drive without traffic icon_smile.gif i also read somewhere in the net, you need to "hot glue" dummy cakes to make it sturdy. has anybody tried this before?

tips & suggestions are very much welcome coz its my first attempt to make a 3 tier cake icon_biggrin.gif

You`ll need to put dowels in the 10 inch to support the 6 over 8.

As for glueing the 2 dummies, you can hot glue them, but I also find that royal icing holds them together just fine. If you allow them to dry for a day or so before transport, they should be fine.
