Buttercream Icing With Cream Cheese Filling????
Baking By Justbeck101 Updated 9 Nov 2008 , 6:49am by JanH
Is it okay to use a cream cheese filling in a red velvet cake with butter cream icing? It does not sound very tasty to me.
Thanks
Why wouldn't it be tasty? I hate icing with cream cheese, so that's what I do unless the customer insists.
yes thats what i use in my redvelvet cake is it taste good.
its good to mix the cream cheese with the buttercream, it helps it crust and hold its shape.
good luck!
So if I make a mocha cake, and I fill with coffee and chocolate creams, can I ice it with white buttercream, or will the tastes "clash"? If yes, how should I flavor it?
Regular buttercream is fairly neutral be it vanilla or almond or whatever... I cannot think of any taste it will clash with.
I guess I could make one for practice, and give it to my official taste tester. i'm sure he won't mind...
