Candle For Penguin Themed Cake?????
Decorating By anna07 Updated 24 Oct 2008 , 6:00pm by TooMuchCake
I an in desperate need of ideas.... i need a penguin candle.
i have searched high a low for one locally. I live in Oz though.
Has anyone have any good ideas????
The cake is a penguin themed one.... igloo, penguins, lake, etc.
The idea of placing a candle in a penguin (made from fondant) or a snowman has crossed my mind though.. any ideas of how it would turn work? or any advice / ideas?
Thanks
Anna
I tried searching on line for you but the only thing I could find was the backyardigans cartoon character as a candle. You could always make a cupcake and put it beside the cake and put the candle on their and tie in the theme onto the cupcake itself (just a thought). If I think of anything else I'll post again tomorrow.
Sorry I couldn't help out more!
Does it need to be a penguin? Maybe you could make little fondant "ice cubes" and stick the candles in those. It would be cute and way less stressful than penguins
I was thinking - How about if you make a mound of snowballs and place the candle in a snowball?
Thanks for the ideas... think i'll try to make one up out of either cubes or balls.
This is my first cake.. so hopefully i'll get good practice.
Thanks everyone !
I'd use a regular candle if it were me (but I admit my sense of humor is a little odd) and I'd model penguins out of fondant. I'd position the penguins as if they were warming their "hands" by the candle flame.
Post a pic when you get your cake done!
