I need to make a shoebox cake for 40 people. Does anyone know what size pan I should use? Will it look funny being big? Or should I make two stacked boxes? TIA.

I think if you used an 11"X15" sheet cake cut in half and stacked one half on top of the other it should be. As far as the size goes, I really don't think it would matter how big it is just as long as the decoration is proportionate to the size of the the "box" it should come out wonderfully.

acording to my charts a 10" square serves 40 so i would shape a 10" cake to a shoe box shape (ie trim down one side and at that to the end to make a rectangle aposed to a square)
