Tammi, I start with a box mix, and add 1/2 package of instant pudding (powder) and 1 extra egg to the ingredients. Once done, I leave the cake in the frig overnight to firm up (or put it in the freezer for 20-30 minutes). It's much easier to carve when it's really, really cold.
