My sons 1st birthday party is coming up this weekend and I'm thinking about using the ball pan to make elmos head. I'm new to the whole cake thing and I'm not sure what to do about making the eyes and nose. Any ideas on what I can do or any ideas in general?

Thank you!!

you could roll up some fondant into balls for the eyes and nose (it's very easy to color with the Wilton gel icing colors). Or you could try to pipe ball shapes out of BC frosting using something like a tip 12. I'm still fairly new to this myself, but if I were trying it that's what I would do! Good luck!

As far as I know, his head is not round. you may have to add to the edges. This was showing on the home page while I read your post:

As for the eyes, you could cut up marshmallows and draw in the pupils with an food safe marker. The nose you could pipe.

I'm not sure what to add since you didn't say if you were using fondant or BC.

HTH. Good luck! icon_smile.gif
