Ok so I know Wilton fondant is horrible as far as taste goes, and I know a lot of pople use Satin Ice. For the last cake I did, I used Bakel's fondant, and the flavor is lovely but it's just too soft, so which fondant do you use the most?

How close is the consistency of Satin Ice to Wilton? You know how Wilton kinda tough like...

You could try to make MMF. I just made it last week for a cake and it wasn't hard to make at all. It is definitely softer than the Wilton. I have some Satin Ice, but I haven't tried it yet. =o) Goodluck!

satin ice, for sure. it's durable, but also very pliable and workable. i've used wilton (i'm a WMI), but couldn't get past the taste and i've made MMF a few times, but never got it to cover a cake well for me. i used satin ice for a wedding cake i had a few weeks ago, and it handled like a dream and the taste is pretty darn good, too! i'll definitely be using it again.
