Does anyone know anything about this recipe? It sounds great, so I'm going to try it. I just wanted some feedback first, though!

It can be found here - http://www.wrenscottage.com/kitchen/recipes/icing/crust_butter.php

These are the ingredients:

2 pounds sifted confectionersâ (powdered) sugar
1/2 cup or 1 stick of softened butter
1 1/2 cups solid vegetable shortening
2 tablespoons clear vanilla extract
1/3 cup water for icing the cake -or-
1/4 cup water for stiff consistency
1/4 teaspoon imitation almond extract

It says it's a crusting buttercream. Tell me about it if you've tried it -- is it yummy and how well does it crust? Thanks everyone!

That's a standard (good) American b/c recipe (1 cup fat to 1# powdered sugar). icon_smile.gif
