I have a cake to do for a wedding. This is also my first wedding cake. It has the swiss dots on it. How will I attach the ribbon to the cake? Also, should i do the dots all over. If so, the ribbon will mess up the dots around the bottom. Any advice. It is 3 tiers.

Hi, Congrdulations on your first weding cake. I would attach the ribbon first and then do the swiss dots. To attach the ribbon, you can use a bit of Royal Icing.

Are you doing fondant or buttercream? If using bc you might wanna check out the threads about satin ribbon and bc b/c of the grease issue. I had that problem with my first cake and like bashini said I'd def. put on the ribbon then do the swiss dots. I did the same for my first wedding cake, but wish I would have used something to measure where the dots would go so that it would have been more even.

And let's get you started right by using SPS for your support system, not dowels.
