how do you make black fondant?? any help would be appreciated

Some people take chocolate fondant and add black coloring. Or add brown color first then some black. I've only made small amounts so it has worked both ways for me.

Save yourself the headache and buy black satin ice.

black satin ice isin't an option for me.. if i make dark brown and add black coloring that will do it??? do u know how much coloring i need?

Add some cocoa to your fondant. (Just keep working some in until it's chocolatey. You may need to add additional liquid to keep it form getting crumbly.) Once it's brown, add a bit of black (I like Americolor), and it will be perfect. If you start with white instead of the chocolate, it takes a TON of food coloring and may likely bleed into other colors on the cake. I've done this on several cakes, and it always works great.
