Have never used a syrup on a cake to help with moistness. What exactly do I use and what recipes are out there? Thanks!

Simple Syrup is equal parts water and sugar, heated to dissolve the sugar (I heat my water to just under boiling, and then dissolve the sugar in with a whisk). That's it. You can then flavor it with extracts, booze, flavored syrups, whatever.
