I had this same problem when I started cakes. It didn't take long for me to realize the time & efforts involved and I started a simple pricing chart for sheet cakes and with wedding cakes I would calculate the $ for ingredients and double that for my time for the total price. People were more than glad to pay that amount. Now that I've backed off doing cakes on a regular basis, I'm back tothe freebie thing. I do it more for pleasure and only do cakes for special people so it's more a gift to them rather than a product.

You're cakes are wonderful, I'm sure people would be more that glad to pay.
