What is the best substance to get fondant items to stick to other fondant items on a cake. I've read just water or meringue powder. I can't get my "pearls" to stick on the side of my cake very well.

Thanks!

My experience sticking pearls to a cake was to poke a little dent with the end of a paint brush or something and then use water to stick it in that worked really well for me. Sometimes you need to hold it in place for a couple seconds too.

hope that helps!

There is a video on youtube detailing a fondant glue. I have used it but using wilton's gumtex as my base and it worked perfectly.

Take a marble sized piece of fondant and let it dissolve in about a tablespoon of hot water. Brush on both and hold in place for a few seconds. I call this stuff elephant snot icon_lol.gif

I just did a cake last weekend. I used royal icing to stick mine. same recipe as Wilton uses. I had it left over from another project, and it worked better than vodka, which is what I LOVE to use (both on the cake and in my tummy!!!)
BTW, make about 100 more pearls than you THINK you are going to need!!!
