Will the royal icing decorations deteriorate if I store the completed cake overnight in the frig? The cake will be delivered tomorrow afternoon. thanks for any assistance. My decorating books talk about the freezer but not overnight in the frig.

It's a crapshoot. Some fridges are "wetter" than others, and if it's a high humidity day, moisture will condense on the cake when you remove it to room temp thus killing the royal anyway. IF your royal icing decor is really dry (weeks old rather than days), it has a better chance of holding up.
