Has anyone ever tried using a cookie press? ??? I have an old-time heavy-duty one and I intend to try it out tomorrow with fondant to see if I can produce any usable tube/rope thingies. I think I'll warm the fondant up in the microwave a bit 1st, then corn starch the metal pieces. Please comment anyone?

I tried that before with one of the old ones...the ones with the pink ends that I think are supposed to look like copper (I love those cookie presses, I think I have five or six because I always buy them when I see them at the Goodwill store).

Anyhow, even with soft fondant and a greased cookie press, it didn't work for me. The fondant just got squished up into the tube around the edges of the metal plunger and none came out of the tip. The extruder has a little rubber gasket around its plunger that keeps that from happening.
