I'm making an Elmo cake for DS's birthday party Saturday, and I need to make a whole lot of red fur... I was planing to just start with Sugarshack's BC, but I'm going to need to make more and I HATE the way red ("no taste" or not, it makes it taste yucky) makes BC taste. So I thought I would start with a chocolate frosting and hope the end result tastes better and uses less coloring.

I would like to try the Chocolate Syrup Frosting from the recipe section. Is this a stiff type consistency that crusts? Can it be made stiffer with extra PS? If not, any other suggestions for a chocolate BC starting point?

I just need it to make a good red color and pull nice fur that will hold it's shape.

TIA!

Is it possible to make red starting with chocolate? If so, that's AWESOME!
I HATE trying to get a true red. Let me know if this works. Good luck. icon_biggrin.gif
