I just received an order for a Heineken beer bottled shaped cake. I'm thinking of making it by baking a sheet cake and shaping/molding it into the shape I need; however, I've seen pics of beer cakes standing upright and those look really cool! Does anyone have any tips on how to do that? Perhaps a tutorial of some sort? Any other tips, ideas and suggestions are welcomed too!

Thanks so much!!!!

Use a four or five 6inch round cakes and stack them...insert a pvc pipe for the neck of the bottle. Carve a little off the top of the cake to look like bottle. Cover in fondant or crusting buttercream...use an edible image for the label or use the "prick" method. When I want to do a 3d shaped cake, I put a 1 inch foam under my board and gently force some sharpened dowels thru the board and foam. Hope this helps!
