I would like to make a cake for the coffee bar grand opening where I am working. It is just a small 2 part cart located in an office building. The cart is red, has a glass case to display sandwiches and stuff. We called ourselves the Coffee Platz.

would much appreciate any ideas that would help the creative juices to start flowing!

You could do a coffee-mug/cup-shaped cake that was coffee/espresso flavored? With a swirl of "whipped cream" on the top.

Shaped like a french press, takeout cup or coffee pot?

Do a whole tray with a cake shaped/iced like a sandwich, maybe a croissant and the mug of coffee?

Sounds like fun! Good luck at your new business!!!

how about making coffee cups out of chocolate, using a balloon dipped in melted chocolate. make little handles out of chocolate and attach them...with chocolate. =) then you could fill them with rounds of chocolate cake and mocha filling, big swirl of whipped cream on top with chocolate shavings or caramel...
