I made a belly cake and I must have used to much flour because I wiped some off with my hands and blew some away with a hair dryer and there is still some.

Do you guys know a quick fix?

Oh yea what can i use clear alcohol for?

how bad is it? Could you use a soft brush to get rid of it? (like a big blusher blush)
Clear alcohol is great to mix with lustre dust to paint on cakes - could you paint over the cake with it to get rid of the rest of the powdery finish?

you can paint the fondant w/alcohol and a brush to remove the flour. I usually use powdered sugar or cornstarch on fondant though...not sure why you used flour? Hopefully this method works on flour too.

Oh dear - did you use flour to roll out the fondant with?

Try brushing the cake with a soft pastry brush to get most of it off.

Did you use flour instead of PS on your fondant? I agree with Amberhoney... Do you have luster dust?

Yeah, no more flour for rolling, hon. Just cornstarch, powdered sugar, or Pam.

I have a spray bottle of vodka for cleaning up powdered sugar on my cakes-it works perfectly!
