I'm making the following MMF recipe and want to use it to make 3D figures, but it needs added stability. I believe you can add Wilton's Gumtex to fondant to make it stable, but HOW MUCH??? I think I put too much in it last night and it crumbled. This recipe w/o the gumtex is super nice to work with (I'm still not fond of the taste of fondant - even MMF, but oh well). I don't have tylose, can't seem to find it at any of our bake shops and need to make some tonight....anyone help me out?

16 ounces white mini marshmallows
2-5 tablespoons water
2 lbs powdered sugar
1/2 cup Crisco shortening (for hands and counter only)

Can you just buy gumpaste and mix it 50/50? That's what I do...

REALLY???

Where do you buy your gumpaste? The only place I know of that has some is Michael's and it's the Wilton brand.

So I would just use equal amounts of MMF and Gumpaste and knead the two together?

The Wilton brand is fine, I get mine at AC Moore. Nobody really eats 3d figures anyway... Yep, just knead them together!
