I always seem to have uneven layers. How do i get my cake a bit more even?

You could try the bake even baking strips.
I use a flower nail in the centers of my cake batter while baking. Seems to do a pretty good job at staying even.

If you mean you can't cut them level, here's a trick I picked up from CC that works really well.

Place 2-3 cake cardboards in your cake pan, then put your cake back in the pan. This will elevate the cake above the pan's edge. Them saw off the unlevel top, using the pan edge as a guide.

Perfectly flat cakes every single time!

a good leveler will help get the even to begin with.

icing them even is another ball game; LOL

takes a lot of practice!

ok....getting level cakes is my biggest challenge! I so very much would like an Agbay but I think if I haven't figured out how to do it myself, they will still be all wonky.

Take a look at Sugarshack's DVD's - they are so meticulous and show you exactly how to get a totally level and perfect cake......*sigh* I am still her student, lol. icon_smile.gif
