Does anyone know how to make a red velvet cake go further like we can the WASC? I have a HUGE cake to do in red velvet and have only used the box cake mixes and wanted to see if anyone knows how to add to this flavor to make bigger batches? Thanks.

This the extender recipie I use with every cake. It can be flovored any way. I generally use DH golden butter with cheesecake pudding. It makes a moist but firm cake every time. I have done it with red velvet several times without any problems.

1 box DH - use red velvet
1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
1 box pudding - chocolate for red velvet
1 envolpe dream whip
1 cup water
1 cup sour cream
1/4 cup oil
4 eggs
flavorings - I usually use butter and vanilla

mix it on high for 3-5 minutes, and bake as usual
