Hi everybody. I am sooo hoping someone can help me on this. I have a football cake that my client needs for tomorrow - not a big deal except for the fact that I have never made silver icing and part of the helmet has silver in it. I am drawing it on a sheet cake....I didn't know if I should try using dust but I have never used any dusts successfully. I used extract with it but I don't think I used enough "dust" ...not quite sure icon_confused.gif

Can anyone help me?

Indydebi you are too awesome!! Thank you so much. I now have silver gel. Quick question though..the gel worked for this cake but if I actually need to make silver bc icing how would I do that? I found out mixing white bc with the gel doesn't work icon_lol.gif . Any suggestions?

Hi Indydebi - I would love to know how you did the gold! Will you please share your secret?

Thanks,

Jeanene

Gold luster dust mixed with vodka ... then mixed with white BC. YOu can add some dark yellow or Americolor Gold if it's not "gold" enough for you.

I did it on this cake: http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=581763

I have some rum. Do you think that'll work? I'm not a vodka drinker so I don't have any on hand lol.
