I need to practice lots of techniques...

Kids are leaving in the morning (already gone to their nina's tonight) for 3 WEEKS ... yes 3 WEEKS without the kids ...

I want to practice things that I couldn't normally do with the kids...

where should I start first???

Help my friends icon_smile.gif

i envy you the kid free time hehe

i have one of my neices for two weeks, yea me, lol but shes the good one so things are going smoothly so far hehe

Oh I ended up not taking that one Lori icon_sad.gif

It was huge... and I get the hebby (sp) jeebies icon_sad.gif

So I of course backed out. Plus it was strange.. they were sooo uncertain about everything that I started feeling like the lady was going to be a PITA ... she made me more nervous then I already was.. soo... once again I backed out.

Sorry I should have posted that icon_sad.gif

then take a nap....

then have hubby take you out to dinner....

then go to bed early....maybe invite hubby to join you icon_twisted.gificon_wink.gif

Hey Christy, I know what you mean...don't know where to start...so much to do, so little time. I get distracted trying to come up with a list. I would probably give up on my list, climb up in the hammock, read a book and take a nap. Then about 2 days before everyone comes home I would get totally inspired and drive myself nuts trying to do stuff at the last minute. See right now I should be in the kitchen making 22 cups of whipped cream buttercream, 15 cups of chocolate cream cheese icing and coloring fondant. I procrastinate terribly. I think you should follow the advise of "make a list of things you want to try and work your way through them" I hope you bettter luck than I would icon_rolleyes.gificon_rolleyes.gificon_rolleyes.gif Enjoy you alone time, make the best of it and have FUN

when I have spare time (hahah!) I go to the florist and pickout a flower I think is pretty and take it home and tear it apart and make it in gumpaste.

OH, I have this plan to use a stencil and scrape RI onto fondant. I bought the stencil... now to get rid of the kids...

3 Weeks! What a great vacation!

I wouldn't even worry about cake the first week or two. I would get a haircut, facial, and pedicure.

Then I would go to the movies. Often.

Plant some flowers or tomatoes.

Visit people or places that I have not seen in a while - or ever.

Take a long drive, rent a motel room in a town 8 hours away, eat at diners, do some early Christmas shopping in truck stop gift shops, and then worry about how much money I wasted on gas going absolutely nowhere - after I get back.

Let's not forget this is why some of us NEED a nap!!!!!!!

I have been looking at all the gumpaste shoes lately. They are so cool! Have you ever made any of those? I saw a photo of some today that I thought were the prettiest I've ever seen. I will try to post the link. There is also the template for this in their photos as well!
