I was thinking of making either a strawberry cake with an amaretto buttercream or a lemon cake with a strawberry buttercream. Which of these do you think would taste better, if either? I'm trying to venture outside of the normal white or chocolate cake but not sure how to put flavors together. Any advice would be welcome!!!

I'm not sure about strawberry w/ amaretto, but the lemon w/ strawberry would be fantastic!

Ok...another question....What would be better, a lemon cake with strawberry buttercream or a strawberry cake with lemon buttercream?

I've done both and they're both great. I think I like the strawberry cake with lemon buttercream maybe just a hair better......
