I borrowed a friends nordic train cake pan and had some problems. I was only able to salvage 3 of the trains. I coated the pans, let them cool just a tad bit, I still couldn't get them out. I've never used these pans before, are you suppose to coat them?? My friend was out of town so there was no way to ask her.

I use those pans and I coat them just like any other cake pans shortening and flour I have not had problems but I don't let them sit to long I usally take them out of the pan while still pretty warm.

. . . I haven't used these pans . . . but I would be inclined to use Pam and flour . . .

I don't have the nordic train pan, but I do have the nordic stadium pan and I coat it well with homemade pan release. Make sure you get in all of the nooks and crannys. The pan bakes up nicely, but really needs the coating applied.
