Yesterday I got an order for a cake with a whimsical monogram on top. I made the monogram out of fondant/gumpaste mix and set it out to dry. They're about 1/2-inch thick, so how long will they take to dry? I need it by tomorrow afternoon. If they aren't dry by noon tomorrow, how can I speed up the drying?

Thanks!
R.

I had a similar question yesterday and someone suggested to put them in the oven with just the oven light on and the heat from the oven helps to dry it quicker. I needed fondant decorations to put on wires for a cake today and I added the gumtex powder to my fondant and tried the oven trick and it worked...now my stuff wasn't near as thick as yours (more like 1/4"), but mine were hard as little bricks this morning!

BTW, I didnt keep them in the oven all night...just while I worked on the rest of the cake. When I was done with the cake, I took them out of the oven and just laid them on the counter overnight...I did also have a fan going in the kitchen.
