a friend of mine asked me to make the cake for a strawberry shortcake and she;ll do the filling and frosting, i normally would not agree to make just a part of something, but thats another story. Anyway, I have no idea what kind of cake to bake. any recipe ideas would be great. Also how thick do i bake the cakes? also how many recipes would i need for 300 people?

I usually make sweet biscuits for my strawberry shortcake, but a good vanilla butter cake would go great too. Angelfood cake is another traditional strawberry short cake base.
