Hi,

what kind of cookies will you be making? Are you planning to freeze them (either after baking or after decorating) or will you be keeping them at room temperature until you are ready to use them??

If you will not be freezing them, I wouldn't go more than a few days (up to a week until consumption is what use my longest time period, but I'm pretty food safety fanatical. I know other people keep them for longer).

Many cookie recipe freeeze really well, though.

I'm make sugar cookies and was hoping to decorate them but didn't know what when I could do this and how long before - my mother wanted sugar cookies decorated to look like her grandchildren and a cake to celebrate her birthday, which will be on may 31st
