This recipe is from a college friend's Mom... they're great!

Whoopie pies
1 cup shortening
2 eggs
2 cups sugar
1 cup sour milk
1 tsp. vanilla
4 cups flour
1 cup cocoa
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
1 cup hot water (divided)

Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs, milk and vanilla; mix throughly. Sift together flour, cocoa and salt. Add it to creamed mixture. Add 3/4 cup water. To remaining 1/4 cup water add baking soda and stir; add to mixture and mix until well blended. Mixture should be hte consistency of cake batter. Drop by tablespoons full on a cookie sheet. Bake at 400 F for 8 minutes.

Filling
2 egg whites
2 tsp. vanilla
4 tsp. Milk
4 tsp flour
4 cups 10x, divided
1 cup shortening

Cream together egg whites, vanilla, milk and flour with 2 cups of the sugar. Beat and add remaining sugar and shortening.

Pair up cookies and sandwich with filling! YUM!!!

I hope you enjoy it!
