Hello Everyone,

I am a newbie both to cake central and cake decorating...As I've been going thru some of the forums I seen many words being abbreviated. I've caught on to some of the words like MMF (I'm assuming is Marshmallow Fondant) etc. I know this may be silly but I am totally out of the loop when it comes to these abbreviations. Anyone care to enlighten me??

I had the same problem at first, and once I caught on that BC was buttercream, I realized that any letter(s) before it were a description of the type:

IMBC=Italian meringue BC
SMBC=Swiss meringue " "
RBC=Rolled BC
etc.

Others I can think of:
KA=Kitchenaid
actually, that's all I can think of except for DH which is a refernce to one's significant other

I have found that "Googling" the abbreviations actually can give you the answers.

DH can also be Duncan Hines depending on what the conversation is.

Or any form of D (Dear, Darn, Dumb... again depends on the context)
